In June 2019, the UK Government laid the statutory instrument before Parliament to eradicate UK net contribution to climate change by 2050.
This is now colloquially referred to as “Net Zero 2050”. Since then, the UK Government has committed to even more ambitious targets by aiming to reduce carbon emissions by 78% by 2035 compared to 1990 levels.
